Stewart Clements, Director at HHIC said “We all have a role to play in raising awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances. Poorly maintained gas appliances increase the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and gas leaks. During Gas Safety Week we want to remind all homeowners about the importance of staying gas safe and having their gas central heating and fire serviced regularly by a Gas Safe Registered engineer.
Regular servicing will also check the performance and condition of the appliance and ensure it’s operating at peak performance. We are also reminding homeowners to check the engineers Gas Safe ID card including whether it is current.”
