Installers and homeowners are being warned that some radiators on the UK market are being advertised with exaggerated heating claims, leading to overstated heat outputs that could leave households cold, out of pocket and wasting energy.
The Manufacturers' Association of Radiators and Convectors (MARC) and the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) have been working to raise awareness as some retailers are using non-standard figures so their radiators appear to provide more heat output than they really do.
This panel looks at the scope of the issue, the work that's being done to resolve it, and how installers can make sure that the products they're buying are up to the job.
Panel members include Andy Philips, Chair, MARC; Richard Poate, Enforcement Manager, Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS); Geraldine Haden, Operational Policy Manager in the Construction Products Team, Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS); Nick Baylis, CEO, Castrads; Chris Harvey, Marketing Director, Stelrad; Chris Hone, Divisional Sales Director, Purmo Group.
